Jesus Will Never Leave You The Testimony of Seibren Hale
|
I was born June 8,1927 near East Lynn,
W.Va. The eldest son of a family of four
boys and four girls. The ways to earn a
living and provide for a family of ten was
coal mining, timbering, and farming on a
hillside farm. A pair of mules, a cow,
chickens, a strong back and an undying
faith in a living GOD and a real hope for
a better life after this was the
requirements for survival there.
We lived within walking distance of the
only church in the community (Church of
Christ) Most of my father’s family were
members of this church. Uncle Lucian
Hale was a deacon, My grand father
(Charley Hale) was song leader and
learned about GOD, JESUS, and the Holy Spirit. I never accepted JESUS into my life here,
but that came later at another church.
I finished elementary school and graduated from Wayne High school. I received a degree in
general education and accounting from Marshall University, also some schooling in Industrial
Safety from Marshall. I received a degree in Industrial Safety from Columbia University I
taught school in Wayne County, W.Va for ten years. I spent the balance of my working life
in the Construction Industry doing accounting or Industrial Safety for construction
contractors.
I believe in Creation and every word of the Bible as the divine, holy, inspired word of our
one and only GOD, JEHOVAH and JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR. This is the proof of
creation. On the other hand Evolution is only a theory. As man searched for the
understanding of the Bible without divine guidance, He used his own ideas which were
unproven in any respect, Just theory.
It was on July 15, 1961 that I accepted JESUS in my Life. Two Ministers were holding a
Revival in a school house on Laural Creek near East Lynn, W.Va. I had been under
conviction for several months. Even though I was not a drunkard, or practiced being a
mean or bad guy, I knew I was a sinner. Had a strong desire to go to Heaven when I
died. This night conviction was so strong that there seemed to be some one pushing me to
that alter when the invitation was given. I accepted JESUS into my life there. This has
proven to be the greatest decision in my life time. I was baptized on SUNDAY, July 17,
1961 in Twelve Pole Creek. I am going to Heaven to spend eternity with loving JESUS.
I love JESUS, my SAVIOR with all my heart, soul, mind, strength, and understanding.
Jesus is still in the saving business and performing miracles, healing his children on the earth.
JESUS has gone back to HEAVEN to prepare for those that love and serve HIM. JESUS
is coming again to take his bride (The Church) to Heaven. I want to be in that number,
hope you have that same desire. This is called THE RAPTURE and includes all those that
have stayed faithful to the end and out stripped us in life.
I am going to HEAVEN and I pray that I will see my love ones and church family at home
with JESUS for eternity Iuca Lee Steele and I were united in marriage on November 8,
1947. GOD gave a daughter (Gladys Cornwell) and a son (Seibren Ray). Gladys was
given two sons (Patrick & Kenneth (Deceased). Patrick was given a son (Brandon) and a
daughter (Chelsa).
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you or forsake you, The following events are real proof
that JESUS will never leave or forsake you. One event concerned my earthly father, the
balance concerned me. Not only was my life saved, but no doubt many other were saved
too in some of these events. For what ever reason JESUS intervened into these events, only
JESUS knows. I do know HE will never leave, or forsake you.
GIANT OAK TREES DESTROYED BY LIGHTNING
“Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning there was thunderings and lightnings,
and a thick cloud on the mountain, then the LORD came down upon Mount Sinai.” -Exodus
19:16
It was the years following the great depression of 1929. Dad and Mom had lost their first
born to this union. Dad worked the coal mines part time, while farming on a small hill side
farm to raise the family. Dad and Mom had recently dedicated their lives to JESUS. They
had decided to raise their family in a Christian home.
The economy was very bad. There was no public work to get. Dad had no money to buy
seed for the coming planting season. He had a wife, two children, two mules, and a cow to
feed. The only alternative left was to buy seed on credit to plant his crop. He began to
work on this plan.
.
Dad read his bible daily and was in constant prayer. Things became so bad that he began to
doubt that GOD would ever bless him with a better living condition. Satan got into the mix
and tried to convince him that GOD did not have the power to control any
thing.
Dad began to pray, asking GOD to show him HIS power and prove Satan wrong. He
wanted all doubts gone. He did not want to be “A doubting Thomas."
Spring had come and time for planting a crop. Dad took the mule team with a large turn
plow to a flat place on the hill top. He began to plow the corn field and forgot about asking
GOD to show him his power. He had plowed several hours in the morning starting at day
break of that
day.
He noticed a very black cloud above the field. There was thunder and lightning. He was
near the end of the field where two giant red oak trees stood. He looked up and it
appeared that there was only one black cloud, so he concluded that the cloud would
probably pass with out much rain. So he took the mule team with the plow under the oak
tree, thinking they would be shelter for them until the shower passed.
All of a sudden, the lightning struck the trees. The mule team headed for the barn with plow
unharmed. Dad stood there among the destroyed tree unharmed, also. THE ALMIGHTY
GOD had proved HIS power beyond any doubt. The lesson is: Don’t ask GOD for any
thing unless you truly expect to receive it.
Natural Gas explosion in new built sewage pump station
“Come and see the works of GOD; HE is awesome in HIS doings toward the sons of man.”
-Psalm 66:5
I was working for a contractor constructing a sewage treatment plant which included several
pump stations. The pump stations were poured concrete bottoms, walls, and tops. The
concrete top had a 30” X 30” opening for entrance into the pump station. Cast iron pipe
sections were installed in the concrete wall for entrance and exit of sewage from the pump
once the pipe was connected to them.
This pump station was 32”-6” deep. The excavation had been back filled around the
concrete walls. Unbeknown to any one, there was a large underground natural gas pipe line
near by. The gas in the line did not have the odor added to be able to smell the gas.
Steel wall ties had been used to hold the wood forms in place and were left in the poured
concrete walls. On this day a concrete finisher was working inside the pump station
breaking off the wall ties and patching the
holes.
Natural gas from a leak in the pipe line had seeped into the pump station. A scaffold was
built inside the pump station for the finisher to be able to patch all the walls. I was doing
engineering work, so I decided to go inside the pump station and look at the newly poured
concrete wall.
Unaware that the pump station was practically full of flammable gas I proceeded to enter it.
Since gas is lighter than air, it entered the station through the open cast iron pipe, flowed
upward to the top opening I went through the opening onto the scaffold, proceeded down
the scaffold to where the finisher was working near the bottom. I noticed that the air was
stuffy near the top, but seemed fine in the bottom. I never once smelled the gas because the
odor had not been added to
it.
I talked with the finisher for a while and looked the concrete walls over. I proceeded back
up the scaffold. The top of the scaffold was about 6’ from the top. I stopped there to look
around. The next thing I knew, I woke up in the hospital with massive burns over a large
part of my body. I was told later that I was found laying out side the pump station,
unconscious with my clothes burning. A Truck driver, passing by put out the fire on my
clothes, loaded me in his truck and took me to the
hospital.
The cement finisher working in the bottom was not burned. I was forced through the
opening in the top by the force of the gas explosion, which sucked the gas from the bottom
to save the man down there and blew me from the scaffold, otherwise I would have been
burnt to a crisp. Divine intervention saved both of our lives.
