God is Good
Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." -John 3:3
God is Good
The Testimony of Mike Greene
I have been blessed in every way and in all
things.  I have seen much of this world and I
have many wonderful memories.  I don’t
know many people who could say that they
have taken a youth group to Mt. Fugi in
Japan or have been on mission trips to
Africa, Jamaica, and Mexico.  I also have
many wonderful memories of my pilgrimage
to Israel.  However, my most wonderful
memory is what happened to me on
February 7, 1960 at about 8pm, when the
Lord Jesus Christ saved me and made me
one of God’s children.
I would pray, sometimes by myself and sometimes at the alter at church.  I know that it
only takes a moment for God to save us, but it took awhile for me to truly believe in knew
that I had to put that head knowledge into real heart knowledge, way down in my soul.

My sister gave me a marble with a grain of mustard seed in it and I carried it with me for a
long time.  However, I didn’t have a true understanding of what it meant to have the faith
as a seed of mustard seed.  The story of faith of the woman that touched the hem of
Jesus’ garment (Mark 5:25) stirred my heart and caused me to test my faith towards
believing in Jesus.  I believed if I could (or would) reach up, not only in prayer, but also in
physical action, I too could touch the hem of His garment.

On the evening of February 7, 1960, I finally had the courage to really reach up and touch
Jesus.  Yes, He was there and He wrapped His arms of love around me in such a way
that I will never forget.  He made me a child of God.  God has made each of us different
from each other.  He has given each of us a different experience to experience the same
thing: the birth from above (John 3:3).  And someday, instead of seeing thru a glass
darkly, we will see Him face to face.

It would be nice, even wonderful, if I could say that I have been perfect ever since God’s
wonderful gift was given to me, but I cannot say that.  I, like everyone else know that I
have fallen short in many ways.  It is wonderful that God does not disown us, or throw us
away.  Instead He corrects us and continues to love us!

I thank God that He has allowed me to witness to many of my family, friends, and co-
workers.  It is such an honor to be used by my wonderful Lord!  He first used me to
witness one on one, then He opened the door for me to witness to thousands while
ministering thru WTSF.  He also opened the door to the whole world thru being the
executive producer of Get Real TV, a local Christian TV program for teens going
international on Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Presently, God is blessing me with my ministry here at Moore Street, at KDMC pastoral
care, and as a Hospice Volunteer Chaplain.  I thank God for my wonderful wife, Neva
and all the great things she does (like putting up with me).  And finally, I thank God for
Mom, and all my wonderful family and friends.
